Hey thanks for the help I'm doing a building & I want a texture that's different on the outside as well as different on the inside.I knoticed that when you texture a building on the inside the same texture is on the out side as well.Same thing applies for a ceiling as well,I thought it might not be possible to do different textures on ech side of a wall so I had a bckup plan & that is to create a very slim brush & put on the outside of the building to get my brick texture, same thing for my roof as well.Being that I'm used to the Unreal Editor when u carved out a brush (block) u did subtracted space which meant u would get an empty room but could texture every face of it whatever u wish. Thanks for your help & I'm still using your vidz keep up the good work for the community.

Hey Phycic,

Happy I could help.

For the brushes it doesn't matter the size. The texture will tile automatically so it will not stretch. But you may want to build the floor a section at a time. If you use a single brush for the entire floor it may slow down your map and you won't be able to change texture to something else if you want variety.

So see if you can build your brushes in sections rather then as one whole.

Hi Alex, loved your tutes I got them all been watching & learning. But I have a problem,I'm looking to do a map w/a start similar to No Mercy where u start out in an apartment, how big does the area of the main brush need to be?? it will have an asphalt texture so I'm worried bout it looking stretched. All of my biuldings will go on it as well it's basically a floor you could say for the whole map.Much like a main terrain floor for an outdoor Unreal map.If i know the size or size's the brush has to be I could make it & that would give a foundation for my map to start on.
Help me if you can PLEASE !! I really wanna do a map for L4D.

Thank You.

Hey harvosis,

It seems like after a patch Valve got rid of the plugins. Do a google search for them. I personally do not use Sketchup to create maps, so it is not something that is required.

Good luck.

No warez.

The game is only $23 on amazon, sometimes cheaper through Steam. Most people will support Valve and buy it.

Sorry, thats not how steam works. You have to download it through steam only and through your account. There is no way to have a separate installation file.
