In the following tutorial, in Left 4 Dead we begin to add standard gameplay elements.

Weapons, Player Start and Fog Env Controller to make our map functionable.

Entities that are required:

info_player_start

info_director

env_fog_controller

weapons_'weapon-name-here'

Hey Curtis,

"How do you make the "Metal Gun Cabinet" work?"

Insert a prop_static as the gun cabinet, in the properties disable collision. Place your guns inside the cabinet and use a brush with clip texture and surround your gun cabinet so the player can't walk through it.

Thank you! I put info_player start etc. a few units above the ground and started Hammer new.

now it works perfectly!

Go on with your fuckin' great tuts.

You may have a leak in your map.

Also your info player start could be not in the room, or sunk into the ground. Make sure its above ground few units.

It could also be badly placed info_landmarik entity if you have one of those.

Hey! First THANK you 4 your tutorials.

Now I have a room and I just want to test it, but everytime I start it there is a error message that the map is not playable and I fall with all the other survivors into the black void (ingame into white strange things you know).

I put into my first room those things you said in the video:

info_player_start

info_director

env_fog_controller

and some weapons.

Can you help me, why it didn't work anyway?
